Vital Services
In Harm Reduction practice, we recognize that active drug users who may be HIV+, homeless, and not connected to systems of care, are more likely to require a higher threshold of services in order to address their needs. It is because of this that LESHRC developed our Vital Services Program. Services are provided by specially trained and committed staff.
When someone requests any of these services they will be required to take an initial intake interview during which the agency’s programs and services are described. Participants seeking assistance with housing issues, physical and mental health, and substance use concerns, can meet with a member of our Vital Services staff and work toward creating an agreement on the best route to take in order to meet the individual’s needs. In most cases these services start immediately. No appointments are necessary for an intake interview.
For questions regarding any of the Vital Services programs, please contact Alberto Alonso, Program Director at (212) 226-6333 ext. 139 or email alberto@leshrc.org
